Nursery and Pre-School

In our preschool ministry infants and toddlers are taught about Jesus in a loving and safe environment. We use a lot of hands-on crafts, games, and creative playtimes to reinforce God’s love to these littlest of hearts.

We have three classes in our department: Nursery (0 - 24 months), 2s & 3s and 4s & 5s.  Each class is set up with age appropriate activities and staffed with at least one teacher for that age.

When you arrived, locate the class for your child (based on age), take a numbered tag and complete the information on the tag.  Ask a teacher if you need help. Please fill in the sign in sheet with your child's number, name and age.  If your child is allergic to ANYTHING please fill out a yellow tag too and mark it on the sign in sheet.  If we need you for any reason, your child's number will be display on the red LED board in the auditorium. To collect your child, please present the tag stub with the corresponding number on it.

We have class ratios that we adhere to ensure that we have enough adults in the class to be able to safely care for and minister to our little ones.  In the nursery the ratio is 1 ADULT : 3 INFANTS.  In the 2s & 3s class the ratio is 1 ADULT : 6 TODDLERS.  In the 4s & 5s class the ratio is 1 ADULT : 9 CHILDREN.  If we have reached the class limit, your child will not be admitted unless you, or another adult joins the class as a helper.  If you prefer to take you child with you to "big church" there are rows at the back of the church designated for those with small children so as not to disturb other adults attending the service.

We do require all parents (or guardians) of children that attend regularly to serve as a helper (to a teacher) in one of the classes at least once a quarter (every 13 weeks).  This ensures that we have enough adults in the class to be able to safely care for and minister to these little ones.  Please see the Preschool Pastor for more information about getting on the schedule to serve.

All volunteers and staff in the preschool department are required to undergo a national criminal background check.  There is an application form that needs to be completed with your contact information and permission for the background check.  Please turn your application form in to the Preschool Pastor or in a seal envelope in the offering basket.

For the health of our children and teachers, children with the following symptoms will not be admitted: fever of 100 degrees or higher, green or yellow nasal discharge, nausea, diarrhea, rash, sore throat or cough.
