If you are a DSTV subscriber in Southern Africa, you can tune your satellite decoder to receive the Spirit Word Channel. Details follow:

 BEFORE PROCEEDING PLEASE INSURE THAT YOU HAVE DONE A DSD UPGRADE

After you have done the DSD Upgrade follow the following instructions:

 · Press [Menu]

· Go to [Advanced Options] and press [OK]

· Go to [Dish Installation] and press [OK]

 · Enter the pin code – 9949 – and press [OK]

· Go to [Network 2] and change it from [Disabled] to [DStv PAS 7] and press [OK]

· Now change the settings to the following:

Frequency: 12722

Symbol Rate: 26657

FEC: 1/2

Polarization: Vertical

Use NIT: Yes

· Now go to “Accept all displayed values and leave screen”

· It will jump back to the previous screen.

Go down to [Scan all networks] Press [OK] and wait for rescanning of stations.

· Press [TV] button. Go to [Pas7\1O] Press [OK]

· Search for Spirit Word channel.

Guidelines:

Should you have done all of above and still can’t pick up the Spirit Word Channel you may

read the following guidelines:

1. Reset your Decoder to factory defaults and try the process again;

2. The Spirit Word Channel is located on the PAS10 satellite platform and incorrect dish

alignment might cause the Spirit Word Channel not to become available;

3. A universal LNB must be used in connection with the correct U6 dish cable. Try to

ensure that there are no unnecessary cable joints or different types of cables used;

4. To be able to receive the Spirit Word Channel, a minimum signal strength of 80% or

more might be required;

5. The signal strength of the alignment to the PAS10 might differ from the PAS7 and

alignment should be done to achieve best possible balance between the two satellites

to ensure that all channels will function properly;

6. Dual or quad LNBs might be more vulnerable to rain fade and might be the cause that

incorrect signal strength is achieved unless it is properly aligned;

7. Please do not try to align/realign

your dish by yourself – please ask a qualified dish

installer to do it for you;

8. Visit our website at http://www.spiritword.org.za for updated information regarding the

settings for different decoders.

Optional settings:

These settings will enable your decoder to pick up other freetoair

channels.

At this point do not change your “Home Network” or “Network 2”. Changing this will

result in not picking up your DStv channels as well as the Spirit Word Channel!

· Enable Network 3 by changing it to PAS 7

· Symbol Rate: 26657

· FEC: 1/2

· Polarization: Horizontal

· Use NIT: Yes

· Rescan all networks.
